Product Description

The Conservator Sponge is a professional cleaning sponge specially designed for various conservation applications with a closed-cell hydrophilic structure. It can be safely used in many areas from paper restoration to cleaning artworks with solvents. The sponges are offered in large size (73 x 48 x 35 mm) and sold as a pack of 2.

Usage Areas

The Conservator Sponge delivers effective results in many different conservation and restoration processes:

• Used in wet repairs to absorb excess water without sticking to the paper.

• Quickly absorbs sudden water puddles in minor accidents.

• Ideal for cleaning varnish residues on artworks, especially paintings and painted surfaces, when used with solvents.

The Conservator Sponge hardens when dry and can be easily shaped into the desired form with a sharp knife. It is reusable; when soaked in water for a few minutes, it softens again and becomes ready to use. This feature allows it to be customized for each project.
