PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: A natural organic product precipitated from milk, soluble in alkalies and low pH soluble salts and insoluble in water. To make Lactic Casein usable and therefore soluble in water, it is mixed with ammonia (forming ammonium caseinate) or slaked lime (forming calcium caseinate). Lactic Casein is an excellent natural binder and is commonly used in the formulations of fillers for frescoes and paintings and, besides, for the preparation of “casein colours”.
